What is there to do

The environment

If anything will make you happy, it will be this colorful coastal region in Italy. The Flower Riviera is the coast of Italy that runs from the border with France to Tuscany. The area is also called the Italian Riviera or the Ligurian coast. You will find picturesque coastal towns along this coast; one even more beautiful than the other. The coast of the Flower Riviera is rugged with impressive rocks and pebble beaches.
Small bays where you can swim, restaurants with a sea view, narrow paths along the coast that are ideal for beautiful walks. By the way, it is not only the villages and towns on the coast of Liguria that are worth a visit, the interior is certainly worth a visit as well.
In addition to the flowers, the area is also known for its olive oil. Our house is in the middle of an olive grove, like so many here. Im Imperia you will find the olive museum and in the area there are all kinds of shops where you can find the most beautiful olive oil,

San Remo
San Remo is a city that you should certainly not miss during your holiday to the Italian Riviera of Flowers. San Remo is quite green and colorful and has a beautiful old town with a beautiful medieval district, La Pigna. It is wonderful to stroll through the - somewhat dilapidated - small streets. Because San Remo is located on a hill, there are many places where you have beautiful views of the city and the coast. Also nice: San Remo has a special casino, where you can get the feeling of going back to the seventies. The building of the Casino San Remo looks straight out of a movie.

PortofinoThe harbor of Portofino is considered one of the most beautiful on the Mediterranean. The town is so popular that it has been recreated in some amusement parks, such as Universal in Florida. The mountainous peninsula on which Portofino is located has the status of a regional natural park. This destination should not be missed during a visit to the Italian Riviera of Flowers. At the top of one of the mountains is Castello Brown castle. On top of the castle you have a beautiful view of the bay and Portofino.

The bay is definitely worth a visit. You can take a boat trip to San Fruttuoso here. That's a statue of Christ seventeen meters deep in the sea. This statue served to protect fishermen and divers. From the port you can catch a ferry every hour to the San Fruttuoso monastery and to the seaside resorts of Santa Margherita Ligure and Rapallo. You can also walk along the high coast to San Fruttuoso.

Nice

Nice is a large city on the Côte d'Azur and is an hour and a quarter drive from the house. Due to its central location, Nice is often considered the heart of the Côte d'Azur. That feeling is reinforced by the fact that the majority of people who travel by plane to this popular holiday region land at Nice international airport. Nice is a popular destination for a day trip for quite a few tourists staying in the region. Be sure to take a look at the harbor and its luxury yachts.

One of the best places to visit in Nice is Vieille Ville, or the old town. This is the oldest part of the city and it is full of narrow streets, cute cafes and charming boutiques. Vieille Ville is a neighborhood full of character, with its cobbled streets and medieval buildings. It is also home to Saint-Remy Cathedral. The cathedral is a beautiful example of Gothic architecture and is well worth a visit. There is a dress code – shorts or tank tops are not allowed.

Monaco

The principality of Monaco is known for its glamour, vibrant nightlife, Formula 1 races and famous casino.
The exotic garden is home to a wide variety of plants from all over the world. The changing of the guard is a beautiful scene in the Principality. This military ceremony takes place every day at 11:55 am in front of the Prince's Palace of Monaco. Watch the guards march past to music.
